Westwood High School principal wins state award

The South Carolina Athletic Administrator Association recently announced the recipients of its 2023-2024 awards. Westwood High School principal Robert Jackson is among the winners. Jackson was selected as the 4A Principal of the Year.

Jackson says, “It’s truly indescribable to express the overwhelming joy and gratitude that fills me as I accept this esteemed award. The honor fuels an even deeper commitment to redouble my efforts and dedication to serving and supporting not only Westwood and Richland School District Two but our entire state. This accolade serves as a powerful reminder of the responsibility that comes with leadership and the obligation to contribute positively to the journey of those around me.”

SCAAA credits Jackson for creating a distinctive school

culture for athletics through his leadership and engagement having a positive influence on interscholastic athletics. Jackson and the other winners will be recognized in March at the SCAAA Spring Conference in Charleston.

Jackson was nominated for the award by Westwood High School athletic director Dr. Garrett Knight.
