Voorhees University celebrates a historic victory as its Computer Science students secured first place in the Cybersecurity Competition at the 2025 ADMI Symposium held in Charlotte, North Carolina. This remarkable achievement marks Voorhees University’s debut in the competition, making the victory even more significant.
The winning team comprised four outstanding students: Ashley Chambers, Shemar Stewart, Izayah Rahming, and Yuraida Godinez. Competing against renowned institutions such as Morehouse College, Spelman College, Florida A&M University (FAMU), and North Carolina Central University, the team demonstrated exceptional skill, determination, and intellectual prowess.

The Association of Computer Science Departments at Minority Institutions (ADMI) convenes this annual symposium to examine critical computing issues affecting minority students, education, and institutions. The 2025 ADMI Symposium, held in-person, featured undergraduate and graduate research with a focus on innovation in computing. This year’s theme, “Enhancing AI Capacity at Minority Serving Institutions,” emphasized the growing role of artificial intelligence in technology education and development.
