Reverend Yancy C. Martin, Sr., will be installed as Pastor of Union Baptist Church at 3:00 PM on Sunday, August 18, 2024. You are cordially invited to attend the installation service.
Reverend Martin is the son of the late Reverend Karen and Deacon Charles Martin of Columbia. He is married to Mrs. Joan P. Young of Columbia and they are the proud parents of three children; Cierra, Yancy, Jr., and Cha’Mar. They are also the grandparents of Karena Wages and Yancy III.
Rev. Martin was licensed to preach the Gospel in January 2001 under the leadership of the late Rev. Dr. D. L. Pearson and joined the First Nazareth Baptist Church in April of 2003, under the pastorate and leadership of Rev. Dr. Blakely N. Scott III. With mutual guidance and training of Pastor Scott, Rev. Martin was ordained by the Midlands Baptist Association in September 2004. Continuing under the tutelage of Pastor Scott, Rev. Martin served as an Associate Minister and worked in many ministries.
Reverend Martin served as the Senior Pastor of Second Mount Beulah Baptist Church (2006-2017). On June 30, 2017, Reverend Martin was elected Pastor of the St. Mark Baptist Church in Bishopville, SC.
Reverend Martin is a graduate of Eau Claire High School in Columbia, Class of 1989,
