“This is wonderful news, for which I thank all of CBIS faculty, staff and students, as well as President Conyers, Provost Evans and members of CBIS Advisory Board,” said Dr. Matthew Waritay Guah, CBIS dean. “This affirms CBIS’s academic value for every one of our current and future students. All CBIS alumni can be proud to know that their alma mater is still a solid and widely respected institution amongst business schools in the country.

“We are proud of our students and alumni who find a way to prioritize education in their busy lives. They have recognized that earning

a degree from an AACSB-accredited business school can help them achieve lasting success for themselves and their families,” Guah said.

During the last peer review visit, the CBIS was praised for its diligence in creating a comprehensive and forward-thinking plan that addresses the evolving landscape of business education and prepares students for the challenges and opportunities of tomorrow’s business world.

The college’s strategic plan outlines its vision, goals, and key initiatives for the coming years, including:

    1. Focus on societal impact and community engagement: Expand outreach efforts and engagement initiatives to create a meaningful societal impact on the local community.
    1. Student success: Implementing new support systems and career development programs.
    1. Research excellence: Fostering cutting-edge research that impacts both academia and industry.
    1. Curriculum innovation: Integrating emerging technologies and business practices into CBIS programs.
    1. Enhanced industry partnerships: Strengthening connections with the business community to provide real-world experiences for CBIS students.

The plan will position SC State’s CBIS as a regional leader in business education and ensure our graduates are well-prepared for successful careers in a rapidly changing business environment.

AACSB accreditation is known, worldwide, as the longeststanding, most recognized form of specialized accreditation that an institution and its business programs can earn. Accreditation is a voluntary, nongovernmental process that includes a rigorous external review of a school’s mission, faculty qualifications, curricula, and ability to provide the highestquality programs.
