The Great Grand Family Foundation is proud to introduce Mony’s House, a youth-centered creative arts and workforce development program designed to give young people a safe space to learn, create, heal, and build real career skills.

Mony’s House is named in honor of Vermon “Mony” Steve, whose life and legacy continue to inspire a movement focused on opportunity, purpose, and prevention. Through this program, youth are introduced to industries they already love — music, film, storytelling, media, and digital content — while learning how to turn their creativity into careers.
The program currently includes two major hands-on learning tracks: Audio Engineering and Cinema Production.
The Audio Engineering Program, in partnership with V12 Recording Studios, teaches students the basics of studio etiquette, songwriting, beat creation, recording, mixing, music production, and the business side of the music industry. Students learn how sound is created, captured, edited, and monetized while gaining exposure to career paths such as audio engineer, producer, artist manager, songwriter, podcast producer, and studio technician.
The Cinema Program, powered by Edify Media, uses the belief that stories matter. Students learn how to tell powerful stories through camera work, lighting, sound, interviewing, editing, and production. The program helps youth understand that filmmaking is more than entertainment — it is communication, history, advocacy, business, and a pathway to opportunity.
Mony’s House was created to fill a growing gap in youth programming. Many young people are creative, talented, and interested in media, music, film, and technology, but they often lack access to professional equipment, mentors, training, internships, and career pathways. These programs provide more than summer activities; they offer job development, leadership, confidence, teamwork, financial awareness, and real-world exposure.
“Our goal is simple: we do not want to turn away a child who wants to learn,” said Pervis Walker, Executive Director of The Great Grand Family Foundation. “Today’s youth are already creating content, writing music, filming videos, and telling stories. Mony’s House gives them the tools, structure, mentorship, and professional guidance to turn that passion into purpose.”
The program also connects youth to internships, mentorship opportunities, workforce development, and future career pipelines in the creative economy. Students are encouraged to see themselves not only as artists, but as business owners, technicians, storytellers, producers, and future leaders.
The Great Grand Family Foundation believes programs like Mony’s House are needed now more than ever. By creating safe, positive, and career-focused spaces, the foundation is helping young people stay engaged, discover their gifts, and imagine a future beyond their current circumstances.
