“O’ Taste and see that the Lord is good…..” – Psalm 34:8 (KJV) That verse inspired not just a name, but a mission for Taste and See Soul Food Kitchen, founded by Gayle Bradley in 2024 in Columbia, SC. This soul food spot is rooted in faith, love for cooking, and a heart for community.
A Sumter native and Hillcrest High School alumni, Gayle turned her lifelong passion for food into a full-time calling— starting with no money but plenty of faith.
“God told me to go,” she says. “And people showed up with everything I needed.”
Located at 6820 N. Main Street, Taste & See Soul Food Kitchen offers Southern-style meals, catering services, and free community events like “To give back to the community” dinners and customer appreciation nights.
When asked what makes Taste & See unique, Gayle says: “Genuine care, a family feel, and a guiding philosophy to treat others the way you want to be treated.”
