South Carolina State Representative Dr. Jermaine Johnson and Fourth Industrial Pictures announce the debut screenings of the soul-stirring feature documentary I Got Myself a Yard, which recounts Johnson’s troubling childhood and documents his subsequent rise as one of South Carolina’s most celebrated athletes and revered elected officials. Dr. Johnson’s I Got Myself a Yard serves as both cautionary tale and inspiration to the people and communities he serves, especially marginalized youth. Immediately following the screening, Dr. Johnson and film director Adam Bailey will take the
stage to discuss everything from the filmmaking process to themes of mental health, homelessness and generational and childhood trauma. The screening event concludes with a Q&A with the audience.
