The Richland County Recreation Commission has announced that seven Richland One student-athletes have been nominated for the 2026 Richland County High School Girls Basketball Player of the Year.
Richland One’s Player of the Year nominees and the schools they attend are:
• Clemyra Cyrus – Eau Claire High School
• Aalisah Davis – Columbia High School
• Lacy Eaddy – Dreher High School
• Dana Isaac – C.A. Johnson High School
• Skylar McCray – A.C. Flora High School
• Zary’a Mines – W.J. Keenan High School
• Jhnai Sumter – Lower Richland High School
The award winner will be announced March 23 during a special banquet for the nominees, their families and their coaches. The winner will receive a $2,000 scholarship or college educational bundle (including an iPad and gift cards) for their hard work and dedication on and off the field.
Richland One Pre-K Registration Opens for 2026-2027 School Year
Registration for Richland One’s free, full-day pre-kindergarten programs for three- and four-year-old children is now open for the 2026-2027 school year.
Richland One’s Pre-K programs provide developmentally-appropriate teaching and learning opportunities that help prepare children for kindergarten. This includes:
• Social, emotional and academic awareness and growth
• Play, collaboration and exploration
• Cognitive, physical and emotional development using a viable curriculum
• Certified and passionate educators who are dedicated to their craft and overseeing the success of young children
Parents must complete the following steps to register their children for 3K or 4K:
- Watch a recorded parent information session and complete a survey. The information session will be sent out to parents and available in February. You may complete the other registration steps prior to watching the session.
- Complete the new student registration online.
- Email all the following documents to the Office of School Readiness:
• Birth certificate
• Proof of income (Medicaid card or most recent pay stub)
• Any additional forms or documents that may be requested - 4K – Complete the DIAL-4 screening. 3K – Complete the parent interview.
