In the second half, neither team could build

In the second half, neither team could build a big lead. The score was knotted at 55–55 late in the third quarter, a tie that seemed to last forever as both defenses stiffened and every possession mattered. Midway through the fourth quarter, with 4:54 remaining, the teams were tied once again at 57–57.

That was when USC’s Madina Okot ignited the building. Okot launched a long-range three-pointer from deep, and when the shot dropped through the net, the sold-out crowd at the Colonial Life Arena erupted. The momentum swung in South Carolina’s favor, giving USC a crucial four-point edge.

Texas fought until the final buzzer, but South Carolina held firm down the stretch. When the clock finally expired, the scoreboard told the story of a classic battle: USC 68, Texas 65.
