SCSU’s Ashaah Hall named finalist for the 2024 Blanchard-Rogers Trophy, SC’s Heisman

South Carolina State defensive lineman Ashaad Hall is one of nine (9) finalists for the Palmetto State’s Blanchard-Rogers Trophy, according to the South Carolina Football Hall of Fame. The award, presented by Ellison Kibler Merrill Lynch, is considered the Palmetto State’s Heisman. The winner will be announced in February 2025 and honored in person during the 12th Annual SC Football HOF’s Enshrinement Ceremony on April 17, 2025, at the Hotel Hartness in Greenville, SC.

The Blanchard-Rogers Trophy celebrates excellence both on and off the field, honoring players who were both born, raised, and played high school or college football in South Carolina, according to a SCFHOF release. Hall, who earned first-team All-MEAC honors and was a candidate for the league’s Defensive Player of the Year, is a junior EDGE rusher for the Bulldogs from St. Petersburg, FL (Gibbs HS). He recorded 40 tackles, 24 solos and led the MEAC in tackles for loss (14) and sacks (11).
