The South Carolina State University Foundation’s 34th Annual Scholarship Gala and Tribute was held at the Greenville Convention Center on Saturday, April 12.
SC State University Relations & Marketing work-study student Winston James attended the event and captured some images of the festivities.
The Gala’s special guest was Laya DeLeon Hayes, who
stars in the CBS television series “The Equalizer” with Queen Latifah.
The SCSU Foundation honored six outstanding “Shining Stars,” SC State students who have excelled in their studies:

The Foundation presented the Dr. M. Maceo Nance Jr. North Star Awards to:

The Gala surpassed the Foundation’s $750,000 fundraising goal by raising a phenomenal $825,457.48.
