Scholarship Eligibility
To be considered for the scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

Be a resident of Richland, Lexington, Fairfield, Kershaw, or Newberry County in South Carolina for at least one year. Proof of legal residency may be required.

Be in their senior year at a public high school or a graduate of an adult education
program in one of the specified counties.

Have obtained a high school diploma or a high school equivalency diploma (GED).

Possess a minimum GPA of 3.0.

Demonstrate achievement through academic records, extracurricular activities, and community service or social justice-related activities.

Preference will be given to applicants who have already been accepted to attend an accredited college or university.
Applicants are welcome to apply before being accepted to a college or university; the scholarship award will be contingent
upon their acceptance into and enrollment at an accredited twoyear or four-year institution in the United States.
Scholarship Award and Application Process
One scholarship in the amount of $2,500 will be awarded this year. The recipient will be expected to attend the Greater Columbia Community Relations Council’s (CRC) annual luncheon in June to receive their award. The deadline for applications is May 2, 2025.
