South Carolina State University graduate Brig. Gen. Antwan Dunmyer has become the 55th commandant of the U.S. Army War College in Carlisle Barracks, Pennsylvania. Dunmyer assumed command during a July 29 ceremony.
Dunmyer most recently served as director of the Mission Command Center of Excellence and previously was deputy commanding general for operations for the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault). His combat leadership experience includes serving as deputy commander for Train, Advise, Assist Command-West in Herat, Afghanistan, during Operation Resolute Support.
Dunmyer earned a Bachelor of Science in psychology from SC State and a Master of Science in strategic studies from the U.S. Army War College, where he graduated in 2019.
