SC State Alumni Band Association to host third annual Concert Gala

The South Carolina State University Alumni Band Association will host its third annual Concert Gala at 7 p.m. on Saturday, June 21, at the Orangeburg Conference Center, 1643 Russell St.

This year’s gala will feature Clyde Frazier and the #PartlyCloudy Live

Entertainment Band — a group composed primarily of former members of SC State’s famed Marching 101. In addition to performing, Frazier will be recognized as one of seven honorees during the event.

Frazier, a South Carolina music educator, leads

the multi-genre band, which is known for its dynamic performances that span gospel, soul, funk, R&B, second line, pop and reggae.

All proceeds from the gala will support the SC State Band Program, which includes all university-sponsored bands. The Alumni

Band Association’s mission is to ensure current band students have the resources they need to thrive academically and musically.
