Sankofa Writers Collective unveils ‘Go Back & Get It – The Love Blueprint’— A Journey of Love and Ancestral Wisdom

A transformative new anthology, “Go Back & Get It – The Love Blueprint,” is set to make waves in the literary world this October. Published through the Inner+Power Press Alliance and written by the Sankofa Writers Collective, this powerful collection of poetry and prose explores the enduring strength and transformative nature of love throughout the African Diaspora.

More than just a book, “Go Back & Get It – The Love Blueprint” serves as a mirror for self-discovery, a window into the lives of others, and a map guiding readers through journeys of love and purpose. Rooted in the Sankofa philosophy — which encourages going back to fetch wisdom from ancestors to shape the future — the anthology inspires readers to move forward with radical love and intention.

Adding to the anthology’s prestige, the foreword is co-written by Dr. Johnnetta Betsch Cole and her husband Mr. James D. Staton, Jr., lending their distinguished voices of scholarly and community leadership. The collection’s afterword is authored by Dr. Barbara L. Shaw, offering resonant reflections to close the work.

The Sankofa Writers Collective itself was born from the “Release the Words Within Writers’ Workshop,” where the authors gathered to support each other and embrace the guiding principles of Sankofa—retrieving ancestral knowledge, love, and inspiration for contemporary growth. According to Williams, a Columbia-based educator, nonprofit leader, and entrepreneur, her mission centers on helping people find their voice and become effective communicators, with a passion for outreach and supporting fellow writers. Robinson, also known as Pastor Mike from

Indianapolis, blends roles as a behaviorist, consultant, and pastor, dedicating his work to inspiring personal empowerment and spiritual connection. Middleton, a lifelong educator, leadership coach, and farmer from Winnsboro, is committed to impacting lives positively, while Hunt, a thespian from Columbia, brings his passion for theater and media to the page.

The book release event will be held on Friday, October 17, 2025, from 6:30 to 9:00 PM at the Palace Restaurant Lounge (200 Graces Way) in Columbia, SC. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet

the authors, enjoy a lively community gathering, experience authentic African cuisine and celebrate this groundbreaking collection. Further information and copies of the anthology are available at innerpowerpa.org/ store.

“Go Back & Get It – The Love Blueprint” continues the Inner+Power Press Alliance’s mission to empower writers of color and amplify culturerooted storytelling that inspires healing, growth, and radical love.
