The Claflin Panthers finished the 2025 outdoor track & field season in style with a pair of terrific performances at the 2025 NCAA Division II Men’s Outdoor Track & Field National Championship Meet. Both junior hurdler Jaevon Riley and senior middle runner Zion Murry had some great showings against the best competition in the nation.

Riley had the best finish of the day with a second-place

finish in the men’s 400m hurdles. He ran a personal best 49.87 in the event for the second-best time in the nation for the entire 2025 season. He was just 0.33 off the pace for the top spot. With the finish, Riley the best individual finish since joining NCAA Division II in 2004.

Murry had a great finish as well. He placed fourth in the men’s 800m run with a 1:49.59 in the event. His performance was especially impressive since

he entered the meet ranked 18th in the nation before earning a fourth-place finish when it all mattered.

With the dynamic performance, the Panthers wrap up the 2025 men’s outdoor track & field season. For more information on Panthers track & field, contact the Claflin University Office of Athletics Media Relations at (803) 535-5548 or log on to www.athletics.claflin.edu
