Ridge View High School’s Blazer Theatre program has been accepted as one of 21 schools nationwide to participate in the Disney on Broadway School of Excellence program, a partnership of the Educational Theatre Association, Disney Theatrical Group, and Music Theatre International. This has been awarded to select schools with significant achievements in student involvement and leadership behind the scenes. The program chose Ridge View Blazer Theatre for its success in cultivating student leaders and designers in the theatrical program in areas such as directing, stage management, choreography, scenic design, prop making, and costuming.
“I am so proud of the incredible work our student leaders and designers have
put forward in the past 4 years following COVID and the passion they have displayed in the creation of the productions leading up to this year. We are honored to have their work recognized in such a grandiose way. As with all of our productions, I look forward to the community seeing this truly student-centered work and getting the opportunity to guide these students as they put their hands into every aspect of this production.” -Jamie Windham As part of the inaugural year of the Disney on Broadway School of Excellence program Ridge View’s Blazer Theatre will be presenting Disney’s Descendants: The Musical April 3rd through April 6th at the new Richland 2 Performing Arts Center behind R2i2.
