Students at nine Richland One schools will be greeted by new principals when the new school year begins August 6.
“Our new principals are ready to welcome students back to school August 6. I look forward to seeing the work that they do to ensure their students and staff are successful,” said Richland One Superintendent Dr. Todd Walker.
Richland One parents and community members are invited to meet the new principals during events that will be held at their respective schools. The new principals and their assigned schools, along with the dates and times of the meet-and-greets, are listed below:
· Dr. Malisa Johnson is the new principal at Meadowfield Elementary School. She previously served as an assistant principal at Oak Pointe Elementary School in Lexington-Richland Five. Meet-and-Greet: Tuesday, July 21 at 6 p.m.
· Dr. Cicely Maxwell is the new principal at Annie Burnside Elementary School. She previously served as an assistant principal at Carver-Lyon Elementary School. Meet-and-Greet: Monday, July 27 at 6 p.m.
· Ashanda Merritt is the interim principal at Hyatt Park Elementary School, where she previously served as an assistant principal. Meet-and-Greet: Thursday, July 23 at 6 p.m.
· Brian Scott is the new principal at Satchel Ford Elementary School. He previously served as an assistant principal at Lake Murray Elementary School in Lexington-Richland Five. Meet-and-Greet: Monday, July 20 at 6 p.m.
· Julie Stensland is the interim principal at Rosewood Elementary School, where she previously served as an assistant principal. Meet-and-Greet: Thursday, July 23 at 6 p.m.
· Miles Dhuey is the new principal at W.G. Sanders Middle School. He previously served as an assistant principal at St. Andrews Middle School. Meet-and-Greet: Wednesday, July 29 at 6 p.m.
· Dr. Brandon Baskett is the new principal at Dreher High School. He previously served as the founding director of The College Center in Lexington One. Meet-and-Greet: Thursday, July 16 at 6 p.m.
· Ricky Moye is the interim principal at Heyward Career and Technology Center, where he previously served as an assistant principal.
· Dr. Brandon Ross is the new principal at Lower Richland High School. He previously served as principal of Mueller Road Middle School in Richland Two. Meet-and-Greet: Wednesday, July 22 at 6 p.m.
