Richland One to host first conference for Male Educators March 15

Male educators from across the community can gain valuable knowledge during the R1 Male Conference: “Scoring Success through Collaboration.”

The conference will be held Saturday, March 15 at Olympia Learning Center (621 Bluff Road, Columbia, SC 29201) from 8 a.m. – 12 p.m. Doors will open at 7:30 a.m. The deadline to register is March 7.

The goal of the conference is create a platform for male educators from various backgrounds to teach, mentor and recruit each other. Topics covered during the conference will include time management, leadership, self-care, support for aspiring and new educators, and having a worklife balance.

While the conference’s primary target audience is

male educators, it is open to anyone who would like to attend. Joseph Bell, Richland One’s 2024-2025 Teacher of the Year, is the lead coordinator of the inaugural conference.

Connect with like-minded individuals, share experiences and explore innovative strategies that enhance learning environments for all students,” Bell said. “Together, we can inspire change, foster collaboration and empower the next generation.
