On Monday, March 2, 2026, a Celebration of Life service was held for the late Jesse Louis Jackson Sr. Family, Colleagues, Friends and Admires all gathered
to pay respects to one of the most prominent civil rights icons from South Carolina. After lying in state at the South Carolina State House earlier that day, Brooklyn Baptist Church hosted an open memorial service for the public.
Local Dignitaries, Clergy, and Organizations all came to speak testimony on the effect of Jackson’s achievements. Many spoke to his advocacy, his inspiration, and the legacy he left behind.
Rev. Jackson was 84 years old.
