Rep. Annie E. McDaniel recently began her tenure as the Chair of the South Carolina Legislative Black Caucus (SCLBC).
“I am humbled and honored to be elected and serve as Chair of the South Carolina Legislative Black Caucus,” said Rep. McDaniel. “For the last 52 years, the South Carolina Legislative Black Caucus has been dedicated to improving the quality of life for the citizens of South Carolina. As we approach the new era of SCLBC, I am committed to the mission and vision to continue to embody our motto, “like limbs, we reach toward the sun, but feed from a common root.”
The SCLBC will embrace the theme “Building Bridges through Unity with Fortitude and Resilience” to emphasize collaboration and connection among diverse communities in South Carolina. We will focus on increasing capacity and resilience, aiming to empower individuals and organizations to work together effectively. This approach seeks to foster understanding, support, and
collective action to address challenges faced by the community, ultimately leading to a more unified and impactful South Carolina.
Working together, the
SCLBC will advance resources and initiatives that improve minority communities, foster opportunities through building bridges, and unite South Carolinians in the pursuit of sustainability.
The 2025-26 SC Legislative Black Caucus consists of thirty-four (34) members of the South Carolina General Assembly (8 SC Senate and 26 SC House of Representatives).
We look forward to continuing the legacy of the South Carolina Legislative Black Caucus to improve the quality of life for all of the citizens of South Carolina.
