Registration for the 2024 edition of Columbia Open Studios, presented by 701 Center for Contemporary Art, is now open to artists. Columbia-based visual artists with a working studio
located in the counties of Richland or Lexington are invited and encouraged to register for this non-juried event, happening on Saturday, March 23, 2024 (10 am-6 pm) and Sunday, March 24, 2024 (12-6 pm).
For artists interested in participating, the registration deadline is Wednesday, January 31, 2024 (11:59 pm). Applicants must fill out the registration and
pay a registration fee—$50 for 701 CCA members and $100 for non-members, plus a $25 refundable deposit, due at the time of registration.
Registration fees help to offset the costs of advertising for the event. As a bonus, nonmember registrations receive an automatic one-year 701 CCA Family Membership.
In the 14th iteration of 701 CCA’s Columbia Open Studios, the public will be invited to spend a weekend visiting art studios in Richland and Lexington. Through free, self-guided tours, visitors
will be able to talk one-on-one with a wide variety of professional artists and observe them as they work. Seasoned collectors and first-time buyers will also have an opportunity to purchase artwork directly from their creators, who will keep 100 % of all sales. In addition to exposing the public to the wealth of fine arts in Columbia, this weekend-long tour of art studios will thus create
new marketing opportunities for participating artists and further establish our city as a regional destination for cultural tourism.
701 CCA’s mission is to promote understanding, appreciation and enjoyment of contemporary art. With a gallery and live-work space for an Artist-in-Residence program, the Center provides artists with resources to develop, create
and exhibit visual arts in conjunction with performing, literary and media arts. 701 CCA also offers year-round cultural programming, including contemporary art exhibitions and other events that are free and open to the public.
