The award-winning Queens Underground International Film Festival, a nonprofit arts organization originally founded in Jamaica, Queens, NY, is making its highly anticipated Southern debut at the South Carolina State Museum on Friday and Saturday, October 10–11, 2025 from noon to 8 pm.
Since its inception, Queens Underground has produced more than 20 successful annual film festivals, showcasing independent filmmakers from over 25 countries. The move to Columbia continues its legacy
of amplifying diverse and underrepresented voices while creating new opportunities for Southern filmmakers and audiences.
“Queens Underground has always been about amplifying unheard voices,” said Dr. Adrienne Whaley, Executive Director. “This festival is not just entertainment — it’s a platform for independent artists to share their unique stories with new audiences while connecting through culture, history, and community.”
