Prisma Health’s Healthy Start Midlands and The Center for Maternal Health Equity at Morehouse School of Medicine are inviting eligible community members to participate in Project IMPACT, a voluntary research study evaluating the benefits of preconception counseling delivered in community settings across Richland and Sumter counties.
Project IMPACT aims to better understand how supporting individuals before pregnancy can improve future maternal and infant health outcomes, especially among communities that continue to face disproportionate maternal health disparities.
Participants must meet the following eligibility criteria:
• Black or African American
• Ages 18–44
• Resident of Richland or Sumter County
• Planning to have a child within the next year
The voluntary research project includes three surveys and five preconception counseling sessions spread over a six-month period. Participants will receive a stipend for completing each survey. Those interested in participating may complete the intake form at https://bit.ly/3Zjx7D7
For additional questions, contact the Healthy Start Midlands Office at (803) 296- 3870.
