The Pink and Green Community Service Foundation & the Gamma Nu Omega Chapter of AKA is bringing in Spring joy

The College Place Community was alive with laughter, bright colors, and the joyful energy of children celebrating the upcoming Easter weekend as the Pink and Green Community Service Foundation, in partnership with the Gamma Nu Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incoporated hosted its Annual Easter Egg Hunt.

Held near the Gamma Nu Omega Sorority House and just steps from Arden Elementary School, the event drew families from across the Metropolitan area for an afternoon filled with fun, tradition, and community connection. With candy-filled eggs hidden

thoughout the event, children eagerly dashed from corner to corner, baskets in hand and eyes wide with excitement.

In addition to the egg hunt, the day featured a variety of games, food, music, and photo opportunities with the Easter Bunny-creating a festive and welcoming atmosphere for children and adults alike. Volunteers from the foundation and sorority worked side by side to ensure every guest felt included, safe, celebrated and most importantly HAD FUN!

“This event is about more than eggs and candy— it’s about bringing the community together, giving back, and creating memories for our children,” said a Pink and Green Community Service member. “We’re proud to continue this tradition each year.”

The Annual Easter Egg Hunt has become a cornerstone of spring for many in the neighborhood, a testament to Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority’s long-standing commitment to community service, youth engagement, and building bridges through acts of kindness.

As families lingered to chat, laugh, and snap photos, one thing was clear: the sense of togetherness fostered by the event was just as meaningful as the eggs found along the way.
