Following months of preparation, the Orangeburg County School District’s first Spelling Bee was a buzzing success. We extend a huge thank you and congratulations to all 24 student participants for their hard work and determination.

Our exceptional top spellers earned their titles through dedication and skill. Camarie Jenkins from Marshall Elementary School took the first place and a prize of $500. Malachi Jean from William J. Clark Middle School came in a close second, winning $300. Third place and $150 were claimed by JaQuittin Youmans from Hunter-Kinard-Tyler Middle/High School.

This event was made possible by our generous sponsors, and we are incredibly thankful for their support. Gulbrandsen took the lead with a Gold Sponsorship of $500. Silver Sponsorships of $250 came from Berry Enterprise LLC, Brothers Detective Agency, and Popeyes Chicken. A special donation of $100 by Karen Lee of Middleton Agency contributed greatly to the prizes for our winners.

As we close this chapter on a successful event, the excitement for next year’s Spelling Bee is already building. The opportunity for our students to shine in this arena is something we eagerly anticipate.
