Orangeburg County School District is proud to announce the appointment of Dr. Teresa Jennings as the new Director of Elementary Education. With a career spanning 18 years in education, entirely at Whittaker Elementary School, Dr. Jennings has demonstrated a deep commitment to educational growth and excellence from the ground up.
Starting her journey as a student teacher and eventually rising to the position of principal at Whittaker Elementary, Dr. Jennings has shown a steadfast dedication to the educational development of her students and the professional growth of her colleagues. Her comprehensive experience within a single institution provides her with a unique perspective on the challenges and opportunities within the educational landscape.
Dr. Jennings’s academic qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Claflin University and advanced degrees in Early Childhood Education, Educational Leadership, and a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership, all from SC State University. These credentials highlight her preparedness to guide the district’s elementary education strategy with knowledge and insight.
