On Tuesday, August 20, 2024, the City of Columbia proudly unveiled a New Urban Canvas Large Scale Art Tapestry at Todd & Moore Sporting Goods. The unveiling ceremony took place on the back of the building, showcasing the vibrant tapestry on the South Wall.
Three of the ten contributing artists—Wilma King, Kristine Hartvigsen, and Michael Cassidy—were present at the event. This large-scale Urban Canvas is a collaborative effort by ten local artists, including
Columbia’s Poet Laureate Jennifer Bartell Boykin, Diane Condon, Wilma King, Tabitha Ott, Kristine Hartvigsen, Michael Cassidy, Lori Starnes, Michael Dwyer, Austin Sheppard, and Anna Redwine. In addition to the art unveiling, Todd & Moore Sporting Goods was honored for their remarkable 80-year anniversary of continuous retail business in Columbia. The event celebrated both the artistic talents of the community and the longstanding presence of a beloved local business.
