Dr. Todd Walker, Richland One’s new superintendent, will present his 90-Day Plan to the community during an upcoming event.
Richland One students, staff, parents and community members are invited to attend the event, which will be held Thursday, August 7 from 6-7:30 p.m. at C.A. Johnson High School (2219 Barhamville Road, Columbia, SC 29204). Dr. Walker will present his 90-Day Plan in the school’s auditorium. After his presentation, there will be a meet-and-greet reception in the auditorium lobby.
Dr. Walker’s 90-Day Plan presentation will be livestreamed on the district’s website (www.RichlandOne.org). The plan also will be posted on the website.
“The primary objective of my 90-Day Plan is to conduct a comprehensive assessment of the district’s operational, instructional and financial systems to ensure that Richland One is on a path toward becoming a world-class school district for all students. That assessment will include a detailed look at issues and concerns that have been raised at the state level,” said Dr. Walker.
“The information and data collected over these 90 days will become the pillars for a comprehensive and detailed vision that includes everyone, leading to the review/revision of the district’s Strategic Plan.”
At the end of the 90 days, Dr. Walker will provide a written report to the Richland One Board of School Commissioners outlining his findings and, at the end of 120 days, a draft Richland One Vision 2030 will be presented.
Dr. Walker began his duties as Richland One superintendent July 1. He previously served as chief curriculum and instruction officer for the Columbus (Ohio) City Schools.
