The NAACP South Carolina State Conference is urging voters across the state to participate in early voting for the June Primary Election which begins on Tuesday, May 26, 2026.
The early voting period begins Tuesday, May 26, and continues through Friday, June 5. Early voting centers will be open daily from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., excluding weekends and holidays.
Voters will be required to present a valid photo ID when checking in to vote.
Qualified voters may vote absentee by mail if they are 65 years of age or older or have a physical disability. To request an absentee ballot application, voters should contact their county voter registration office, where additional information and assistance will also be available.
At a time when mid-decade redistricting and voting rights are at the center of public debate, it is critical that South Carolinians remain informed, engaged, and active in the electoral process. Early voting provides voters with a convenient and accessible opportunity to make their voices heard before Election Day.
“The strength of our democracy depends on participation,” said Brenda C. Murphy, President of the NAACP SC State Conference. “As redistricting discussions move forward, we encourage every eligible voter to stay informed, verify their voting information, and take advantage of early voting opportunities in their communities.”
The NAACP SC State Conference remains committed to protecting voting rights, increasing civic engagement, and ensuring that every South Carolinian has equal access to the ballot box.
For more information about early voting details, poll locations, or a full list of qualifying reasons to vote absentee, voters are encouraged to contact their local county election office or visit the South Carolina Election Commission website at www.scvotes.gov or call at (803) 734-9060.
