The South Carolina NAACP will host the Annual Convention & Civil Rights Conference, October 10-12, 2025, at the Woodard Technology Center, located at 70 Innovation Way, Camden, SC 29020. This year’s convention will embrace the theme “Thriving in Turbulent Times.”

The Annual Convention & Civil Rights Conference will feature a wide range of engaging topics, events and activities with some exciting speakers aimed at empowering communities as we continue the fight for civil rights. This Conference provides an opportunity for South Carolinians to share in the salute to outstanding individuals for their exceptional work and recognition in civic engagement, healthcare, social justice, education and so much more toward the betterment of our community and society. University of South Carolina histories through storytelling.

Jean attends the University of South Carolina where she is pursuing a Masters in Library and Information Science (MLIS). She is dedicated to continuing Ethel Bolden’s mission of equitable and free access for all by expanding partnerships, empowering communities through library services, and ensuring that everyone has a seat at the table. Jean is a dedicated and community-focused library professional with proven success in building community partnerships, leading programs for diverse audiences and utilizing emerging technologies to enhance access to library resources.

Originally established in 2010 as a scholarship, the fellowship recognizes Mrs. Ethel Bolden’s years of service to the Richland County community and its libraries.
