The program received a $9,375 donation from the Midlands chapter of 100 Women Who Care, an organization that works together to raise money and donate it to different causes, groups and organizations. The money will go towards hands-on learning, leadership experiences and workforce development initiatives for the program.
In addition to the donation, Representative Jermaine Johnson presented the program with a resolution from the South Carolina House of
Columbia High School’s Jobs for America’s Graduates (JAG) students
Representatives, recognizing the program’s impact on student success, leadership and college and career readiness efforts.
Richland County Coroner Naida Rutherford served as the induction ceremony’s guest speaker. “What a wonderful night
for the students of Columbia High’s JAG program. This recognition and support reflect the dedication of our students and community partners who believe in helping young people reach their full potential,” said Columbia High JAG Specialist LaTonya Jackson.
Richland One’s JAG program gives high school students the skills and support they need to succeed in education, employment and life. The program is offered at all of Richland One’s high schools and Richland One Middle College.
