He holds a Doctorate in Educational Leadership, Masters of Public Administration with a concentration in Public Policy, and a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice Administration from Clark Atlanta University. Fraternity Inc., and a licensed minister at the Enon Church in Atlanta, Georgia.
“The mission statement is to produce graduates who can pursue productive careers and enhance their lives and society,” President Sewell said. “My administration is committed to ensuring that Morris has a vibrant campus life—from weekly block parties to various organizations to events, so we are excited to welcome Dr. Surry, after a robust national search, to Morris College. Having graduated from a private HBCU and worked in student affairs, including judicial conduct and Greek life, for over ten years, Dr. Surry’s background makes him an ideal person to lead our student affairs division. I want to thank Ms. Quanda Sims for her leadership and dedication to our students, as she has served them extremely well as the interim Vice President of Students. We look forward to her continued elevation of our students in her next role at Morris College.”
Surry lives by the quote, “When God gives you the gift of opportunity, what you do with that opportunity is your gift to God.”
