Allen Campbell of Lexington and Navaud Guscott, a Benedict College student both were recognized at the 65th South Carolina District Conference of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. held October 9-11, 2025 in Spartanburg, SC. K. Allen Campbell received the honor of being named the Outstanding Alumni Brother of the Year for the District of South Carolina while Navaud Guscott was named the Outstanding College Brother of the Year for the District.

K. Allen Campbell, a native of Hartsville, SC is a graduate of the University of South Carolina and Penn Foster University. He is the Events Coordinator for Brookland Baptist Church and CEO of Simply Special Weddings and Events, LLC.

K. Allen is very involved with the community in various capacities. He is a member of the Cayce West Columbia Rotary Club, Board Chair for SC MOCHA (Men of Color Health Alliance), Member for the AIDS Health Foundation Advisory Board and recently served on the Board of the SC Midlands Region of the American Red Cross. He has served as the Director of Conferences for the SC District of Alpha for the past 18 years. He is also an Associate Director of Conventions for the Southern Region of Alpha Phi Alpha and a member of the National Time and Place for the fraternity. He also served as Alumni Advisor for the Gamma Pi Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. seated at Benedict College for 7 years Moreover, K. Allen has been recognized as the Chapter Brother of the Year for 7 years. The recipient of the Augustus Witherspoon
Award 3 years and a former winner of the Outstanding SC Alumni Brother of the Year. The Outstanding Alumni Brother of the Year Award is based on the member’s active participation in Alpha, awards and achievements, efforts to promote the personal progress and service to Alpha brothers and chapters and contributions to the community.
Benedict College Student Named Outstanding College Brother of the Year
Navaud A. Guscott, a native of Portland, Jamaica, has been named the Outstanding College Brother of the Year for the South Carolina District of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. The recognition was awarded at the 65th District Conference in Spartanburg and honors undergraduate brothers who exemplify leadership and service.
Guscott is a Finance and Accounting major at Benedict College and serves as the 2025–2026 Student Government Association President. Within the Gamma Pi Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha, he serves as the Treasurer. He chairs the Miss Old Gold & Black Scholarship Competition Committee, where he helps coordinate one of the chapter’s signature programs. Known for his commitment to supporting others, Guscott works as a Peer Financial Tutor, tutors Benedict students across several academic areas, and continues to provide homework assistance to students from his high school in Jamaica.
His dedication to service also extends throughout the Columbia community through volunteer work with St. Luke’s Episcopal Church Fresh Start Program, Ronald McDonald House Charities, and Harvest Hope Food Bank.
