Capital City/ Lake Murray Country (CCLMC) is proud to unveil the first member of the Southeastern BBQ Showdown’s (SEB-BQSD) esteemed judging panel. Mark Henry, known as “The World’s Strongest Man,” will be lending his expertise and charisma as a judge at the inaugural event June 14-15 at Segra Park. Standing at an imposing 6 feet 4 inches and boasting a storied wrestling career, Mark Henry’s involvement marks an electrifying milestone for the SEBBQSD.
Hailing from Silsbee, Texas, Mark Henry is a force to be reckoned with. In 1996 he took home a gold medal at the Summer Olympics for weightlifting, later that year he made his WWE debut. Since then, he has dominated the wrestling scene with his impressive strength and athleticism. But there’s more to Mark than just mus-
cles—he’s also a standup comedian who keeps audiences entertained with his quick wit and humor. In addition to his accomplishments, Mark is also passionate about fitness and healthy living. Through his Strong Kids program, he’s on a mission to inspire the next generation to lead active and healthy lifestyles.

The event will take place on June 14-15, 2024 from 4-10 p.m. at Segra Park, located at 1640 Freed Street in Columbia, S.C.

Capital City/ Lake Murray Country Regional Tourism Board and The Columbia Fireflies are teaming up to bring the first-of-itskind high-stakes BBQ Competition June 14-15, 2024 to Columbia, S.C. Over the course of 2 days, chefs from around the Southeast will compete for the top prize.
