The Total Woman Empowerment Network, a program of Good Shepherd Outreach Ministries, will host the second annual “Conversations That Empower: Spirit, Soul & Body” on Saturday, August 9, 2025, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Good Shepherd Outreach Ministries, located at 118 Commerce Street in Sumter.
Following its inaugural event in October 2024, this year’s program will open with a panel discussion on domestic violence awareness, offering the community practical tools, education, and insight on how to identify and respond to abuse. Panelists will include advocates, community lead-
ers, and survivor voices committed to ending cycles of violence.
After the discussion, the program will transition into a summer talent showcase featuring local singers and spoken word artists. A fashion show extravaganza and reception will follow, bringing together art, expression, and advocacy in a family-friendly setting.
The event is hosted by Joan D. Hampton, CEO of The Total Woman Teaching Series and a longtime advocate for women’s wellness and personal development. Under
Hampton’s leadership, “Conversations That Empower” has become a signature platform designed to inform, uplift, and unify communities spanning the Midlands and PeeDee.
“This event creates a space where truth, talent, and transformation can exist side by side,” Hampton said. “We want guests to leave inspired, informed, and empowered to take action in their lives and communities.”
A portion of the event proceeds will benefit The Total Woman Domestic Violence Awareness Program, which offers year-round resources,
outreach, and support services for individuals and families impacted by abuse.
Tickets are $25 per person and are for purchase at www. JoanDHampton.com or at the door. Doors open at 3 {: } 3 0 \mathrm { p. m } Early arrival is encouraged.
