Lexington and Richland County Democratic Parties are partnering together to host the one and only candidate forum with Senator Dick Harpootlian and Representative Russell Ott. The event will be held on May 20, 2024, at the Brookland-Lakeview Empowerment Center in West Columbia from 6 – 8 \mathrm { p m } .
These two men are candidates for SC Senate District 26. Nikki Setzler chose
not to seek re-election for the SC Senate after a record 48 years, the longest tenure in the nation.
This is a very important and contentious race because when the map was redrawn, it incorporated both city and rural areas of Richland and Lexington Counties.
Citizens of both counties will be able to submit questions and hear from each candidate on important issues.
