A new beauty experience has arrived in the Midlands! Lips By You Lab, owned and operated by Tasha Feaster Jones, celebrated its official ribbon-cutting ceremony on Monday morning, marking the launch of a one-of-a-kind makeup studio in Columbia.
After a memorable beauty experience elsewhere, Tasha was inspired to bring the idea home. She and her husband prayed about the vision, wrote it down, and brought it to life — together. Her husband, a contractor, helped design and build the space that now houses this vibrant and creative lab.
At Lips By You Lab, guests step into a fun, hands-on beauty experience where they can create their own custom lipstick, lip gloss, or lip balm. Customers can choose their own colors, add fragrances, and even select from beautiful, colorful lipstick tubes — many of which can be personally engraved. Every product is all-natural, vegan, gluten-free, and nut-free, offering beauty that’s as safe as it is stylish.
Tasha has been a hairstylist for 33 years and continues to operate her hair salon suite right next door. While she’ll still be styling hair, her main focus now is on Lips By You Lab, where she invites everyone to “come and experience it for yourself!”
The lab also hosts private events such as bachelorette parties, birthdays, or girls’ nights out, accommodating up to 25–30 guests. It’s an ideal spot for anyone looking to mix fun, creativity, and self-expression.
Tasha’s motivation comes from her faith. She says her guiding scripture is, “I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me.”
Lips By You Lab is open Wednesday through Sunday, 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at 3711 North Main Street in Columbia, SC 29203.
