Lexington-Richland 5 names director of Adult Education

The Lexington-Richland School District Five has announced that Dr. John McMillan will be the new director of adult education.

McMillan, who serves as an assistant principal at Dutch Fork High School, brings a wealth of experience to his new role.

Prior to his tenure at Dutch Fork, he served as an assistant administrator at Irmo High School and has also held positions as an adult education teacher and an English teacher. His extensive background in both secondary and adult education equips him with a unique perspective and the necessary skills to lead the adult education program.

McMillan’s educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication from Jackson State University, a Master’s degree in English Education from South Carolina State University, and a Doctor of Education in Education Administration from South Carolina State University, which he received in 2012.

He is recognized for his excellence in education, having received numerous awards including Lexington-Richland School District Five’s Assistant Principal of the Year and a Presidential Award for Services Outside of the Classroom. These accolades highlight his dedication to educational leadership and his commitment to fostering a positive learning environment.
