The League of Women Voters of the Columbia Area is a nonpartisan political organization that encourages informed and active participation in government, works to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and influences public policy through education and advocacy.
The League of Women Voters of the Columbia Area participates in the LWVUS national website, VOTE411, an online resource with voting information for upcoming elections at the local, state and national levels.
Before the November 4, 2025, General Municipal Elections in South Carolina, the League of Women Voters of the Columbia Area has gathered information about the candidates running for office in Richland and Lexington counties. These candidates have been contacted and asked to provide informative answers to several policy questions pertinent to their municipality and the office they are seeking.
“As a nonpartisan organization, the League of Women Voters does not endorse or oppose candidates. Instead, our VOTE411 website allows candidates to speak directly to voters in their own words,” says Sara Phillips, President, League of Women Voters of the Columbia Area.
All the candidates’ information and responses were published online on September 23, 2025, on the VOTE411. org website. Voters in Richland County and Lexington County will be able to access this information before General Municipal Election Day, November 4, 2025.
To utilize the VOTE411. org website, enter your residential address on the home page and follow the instructions to view your sample ballot.
VOTE411.org is a “onestop-shop” for local, statewide, and national information and provides simple, helpful tools to help Richland County and Lexington County voters navigate the election process. VOTE411.org provides up to date voting information including polling locations, absentee ballot information and early voting dates and locations.
