The University of South Carolina Women’s Basketball team delivered a great performance in a hard-fought matchup against the Texas Longhorns. Gamecock fans were treated to a fastpaced, back-and-forth contest that came down to the final moments.
Texas came out strong in the opening quarter, taking an early 20–13 lead as both teams tested each other’s defenses. South Carolina responded with
intensity in the second quarter, matching Texas basket for basket. The pace quickened, and by halftime the game was deadlocked at 32–32.
USC’s Joyce Edwards made her presence felt throughout the game, battling relentlessly on the boards. On multiple possessions, she fought through traffic to secure rebounds and keep the ball in South Carolina’s hands, energizing her teammates and the crowd.
