Jordan Hopgood joins Benedict as special teams coordinator and tight ends coach. Hopgood joins Benedict from Savannah State, where he served as running backs coach. He also has been a running backs/tight ends coach at West
Virginia Wesleyan, tight ends coach at Jackson State, running backs coach at Morgan State and return specialist coach at Howard.
DaVon Smith returns as running backs graduate assistant coach. A former Tiger running back, Smith graduated from Benedict in 2022 with a bachelor’s degree in sport management, and is currently working on a master’s degree in sport management.
Shannon Showers joins Benedict as a defensive backs graduate assistant. Showers played at West Florida for two seasons after transferring from Southern Mississippi. In his final season with the Argos, he recorded 66 total tackles with one interception, four pass breakups and two forced fumbles.
