Their eldest daughter, Kristen, is being groomed by her father to continue the family’s tradition of professional tax service, client education, and community commitment. The transition represents more than succession—it represents the continuation of a family legacy built through hard work, knowledge, relationships, and service.
Another important part of that legacy is April Harris, who has been part of the Javis family business for 16 years. April currently serves as Office Manager and Senior Tax Advisor, bringing years of experience, institutional knowledge, and dedication to the company’s clients.
Excellence Through Education
Javis Tax Service believes that excellence in tax preparation requires continuous education. Most recently, the Javis team traveled to Chicago for the 2026 IRS Tax Forum, where they participated in professional education focused on the latest tax legislation, regulations, and changes impacting taxpayers and tax professionals.
The team’s commitment to education reflects an important principle at Javis Tax Service: every taxpayer’s situation is unique.
While tax laws and regulations provide the framework, the Javis team takes the time to understand each client’s individual circumstances and identify applicable opportunities, requirements, and considerations.
Expanding Services to Meet Client Needs
In 2018, Javis Tax Service expanded its offerings by adding Life & Health Insurance services, allowing the company to provide clients with additional financial protection solutions under the Javis brand.
The firm’s advisors are also Notary Publics, further expanding the convenience and professional services available to clients.
Education Behind the Expertise
Founder Mrs. Kadenia Javis earned her Accounting degree from Limestone University and her MBA from Strayer University, combining technical accounting knowledge with advanced business education.
Ms. Javis holds a Bachelor of Science in Political Science and a Master of Science from the University of North Carolina, adding a broad perspective to the firm’s professional expertise.
