I DeQuincey Newman United Methodist Church welcomes Mrs. Janelle Sistrunk Mitchell as the guest speaker for the Annual Women’s Day/Women in the Pulpit Celebration on Sunday, March 17, 2024, at 10:00 am. Mrs. Mitchell is an active member and Lay Servant of Saint Stephen United Methodist Church in Orangeburg, S.C., where the Rev. Kenneth Carter is the pastor. She is married to Mr. Maurice Mitchell, and they have two adult children.

Mrs. Mitchell is also active in civic organizations in her community and nationally. She is a retired educator who served the public school system for 27 years before becoming a math specialist for the S.C. State Department of Education. She is an Alum of Claflin University and South Carolina State University. She is a licensed Realtor with over 30 years’ experience and is currently employed with the Moore Group, a division of the Litchfield Company in Orangeburg, SC. Please join us for a spirit fill celebration commemorating Women’s History Month.
