I D Newnan UMC Growing Stronger, Growing Deeper Reaching Higher!
In Pastor Frank James’s address to the church, on its 40th Anniversary in April, he included a plan for going forward into the next 40 years. He Stated, “Number 1, we plan to continue the commitment to God to study his word and Number 2, to share them with the community.
Going forward the congregation, and the community will engage in an in depth 5-week virtual Bible Study beginning in June and concluding in July with an in person wrap up session on Saturday July 13th. If we are to grow stronger, and deeper, we must remember our Beginnings. This church was formed on the belief that God ordained the land it sits on to be Holy and a comforting place for the community at large.
We intend to fulfill the dream of our founder, Rev. Isaiah DeQuincey Newman.
Beginning Wednesday June 12th, 6pm, we will begin focusing on Growing Stronger, Growing Deeper in God’s Word. Dr. Robert C. Duckworth will teach the first 3 sessions virtually from his home, in Dallas Texas. Each week, the community will assemble at the church and participate electronically, (Virtually).
The dates are June 12, 19, and 26. On Saturday July 13th Dr. Duckworth will come to Columbia and teach the final Bible Study in person and on Sunday, July 14th at 10:00am he will bring the message.
We are excited about the next 40 years. We invite you our families and our communities to join us as God shows us what the possibilities are if we Truly believe in his mercies and Grace.
