Hickory Hill Baptist Church Women’s Ministry will host a voter education and civic engagement program on Saturday, September 26, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Hickory Hill Baptist Church, 4643 Neeses Highway in Orangeburg.
The program will feature Antjuan Seawright, a South Carolina-based political strategist, public affairs commentator, and founder and CEO of Blueprint Strategy LLC. The event will also include a special presentation from the Orangeburg County Voter Registration Office focused on helping community members better understand the voting process and prepare to participate in upcoming elections.
Representatives from the Voter Registration Office will provide information on voter registration, ballots, and voter identification requirements. Attendees will also have an opportunity to see a demonstration of voting equipment and ask questions about the voting process.
“Our church has always believed that faith should be reflected in how we engage with and serve our community,” said Pastor Rickey James, M.Div., pastor of Hickory Hill Baptist Church. “Providing our community with accurate information about voter registration and the voting process is one way we can help people become informed and engaged citizens.”
The program is being presented by Hickory Hill Baptist Church Women’s Ministry under the leadership of Shirley Waymers, with Shelia Washington serving as event chair. The event is designed to provide community members with practical election information and an opportunity to engage in a broader conversation about civic participation.
Seawright is the founder and CEO of Blueprint Strategy LLC, a public relations, advertising, and political consulting firm based in South Carolina. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Marketing from Winthrop University in 2008 and a Master of Business Administration from Webster University in 2010.
Seawright is a Democratic political strategist and a senior visiting fellow at Third Way. He has written opinion commentary for national media outlets and hosts “Insight with Antjuan Seawright,” a weekly public affairs radio show based in South Carolina. He is also active in civic and community organizations, including the NAACP, National Action Network, Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., and the Columbia, South Carolina Chapter of 100 Black Men of America.
The September 26 program is open to community members interested in learning more about voter registration, election procedures, and civic participation.
