Dr. Kamon Singleton, an English Language Arts (ELA) teacher at Heyward Gibbes Middle School, has been named a 2025 Regional Teacher to Watch for the Upper Midlands region by the South Carolina Association for Middle Level Education (SCAMLE).
The Regional Teachers to Watch Award recognizes one educator from each region for their “dedication to and work with middle level students.” The award is presented to educators who have made a positive influence on middle level
students and middle level education.
“I am honored and humbled by this recognition. It means so much to be acknowledged for my passion and efforts in regard to student learning. I share this achievement with the children who motivate me daily, and I feel inspired to continue to help them reach their highest potentials,” said Dr. Singleton. Dr. Singleton will be recognized during the annual SCAMLE Conference in Myrtle Beach February 28-March 2.
