Her sister, Julia Christie,
is the assistant manager and a master-level social worker. She graduated from USC located in Columbia, SC in 2012 and has many connections to helpful community resources. Both sisters are focused not only on helping kids, but also helping parents feel supported and less stressed.
What makes Learn2Lead special is that it’s a small, family-centered business. The staff gets to know every parent and child personally. They’re also setting up a diaper program for families in need and planning resource fairs to help parents find jobs or get help with Medicaid.
Building their center wasn’t easy. It took two years of hard work, including full renovations, parking lot updates, and zoning approvals. They had to meet ADA standards and hire engineers and architects to make sure everything was done right. Even after being told “no” several times, they didn’t give up.
Their favorite sayings are: “Man says no, God says yes” and “Your kids are our family.”
