The Henry Ponder Gallery on the campus of Benedict College will host the annual Studio Art Alumni Exhibition. Curated by Wendell Brown, director of the Henry Ponder Gallery, the exhibit is open and available for viewing from October 20 to November 7. Gallery hours are from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
The purpose of this exhibition is twofold: to honor the achievements of our alumni and to inspire current students by showing them the possibilities of their own creative journeys. Its impact lies in affirming the role of Benedict College as not only a place of learning, but also a space where artistic vision, resilience, and innovation take root and flourish.
During Homecoming Week, alumni will return to campus and hold a workshop with students on Friday, Oct. 31 from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Also, that day, the gallery will host an Artist Talk from 6 – 8 \mathrm { p. m } . in the Little Theater located in the Henry Ponder Fine Arts and Humanities Center.

Future meetings of the HBCU Caucus will discuss opportunities to advance each institution’s needs, including infrastructure modernization, improving student support services, and additional state funding.
The formation of this bipartisan caucus mirrors similar efforts at the federal level and in other states and marks a significant moment in the state’s higher education landscape.
