On Saturday, July 20, 2024, Hands of a New Creation will host a Purple Gala in honor of Domestic Violence. We will recognize 10 champion survivors for an impactful evening of awareness and entertainment. A survivor is the essence of an individual that continues to function during and after overcoming a serious hardship or life-threatening situation. This event will feature keynote speakers, Dr. Juanita McDonald founder of a nonprofit organization Re-Discover Me Women Initiative, Andre C. Barnes Sr., Rev. LaCreasia Turner-Parks a champion survivor of domestic violence will give her testimony.
Hands of a New Creation INC is 501©3 nonprofit organization founded in 2023 to provide professional supportive service to women affected by abuse, trauma, and mental concerns.
Our mission is to help women and children that have been impacted by domestic violence break the cycle of abuse, poverty, and violence. Our programs are designed to provide the essential support and tools toward making the positive transition from welfare to work. Dysfunction and violence to harmony and selfsufficiency.
Intimate partner violence accounts for 5 5 % of murdered women in the United States. Intimate partner violence
accounts for 1 5 % of all violent crimes annually.
More than 1 in 3 women 1 in 4 men have experience either physical violence, rape, or stalking by an intimate partner in their lifetime. And over 20,000 calls are placed to domestic violence hotlines by individuals reporting incidents.
Hands of a New Creation has future plans to build a 45-bed safe haven shelter for women and children escaping from their abusers.
Our purple Gala is a fundraiser to help us reach our goal to purchase 4.25 acres of land to build the shelter.
